Grit Guide
GRIT GUIDE
For the Creative Who Almost Quit
By Deann Hebert
I Almost Walked Away
There was a season I almost quit.
Sales were inconsistent.
I felt invisible.
Comparison was loud.
I questioned my talent.
My timing.
My calling.
But here’s what I learned:
It’s not always about who is BEST.
It’s about who is SEEN.
And who stays.
What GRIT Really Means
GRIT isn’t burnout.
It’s:
• Showing up when it feels small
• Getting better instead of bitter
• Learning the business side of creativity
• Choosing visibility over invisibility
• Staying when others quit
The GRIT Reset
When you feel like giving up, ask:
G — Get better
What skill needs sharpening?
R — Reposition
Is it my work… or my messaging?
I — Increase visibility
Who needs to see this that isn’t yet?
T — Trust the process
Am I called… or just impatient?
The Hard Truth
Creative talent is often underpaid and under-appreciated.
But sometimes it’s not about talent.
It’s about:
• Who keeps going
• Who learns to be seen
• Who refuses to shrink
If you’re still here, you’re not done.
One Brave Move This Week
Do one thing that moves you forward:
☐ Tell your story
☐ Raise your prices
☐ Email your list
☐ Pitch your work
☐ Launch the offer
Momentum comes from movement.
You don’t need more talent.
You need more GRIT.
